How is our site one of the safest on the net?
Our members' security and privacy are critically important issues for BigCrayon.com®. We are proud of the advances stores have made to protect your data and personal identity. The television commercials have all educated us about identity theft.  Our stores are committed to protecting your data by the newest PCI Standards credit card: Monitoring for intrusion attempts - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;  SSL, Data, and Password encryption technology, Firewalls and systems monitoring, Security audits and inspections by leading security firms. The security of your personal information and transactions data is our priority at BigCrayon® so much that we do not store transaction data. All stores are required to utilize Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL), automatically encrypting your sensitive information in transit from your computer to the retail store. The information reaches the store instantly and resides on servers that are configured for maximum security and are continuously monitored for unauthorized changes. The stores security architecture and security procedures are audited and inspected by industry leaders specializing in security processes and technologies for new PCI secure standards.

How Do We Protect Your Security?
The only data stored is member contact physical postal address and e-mail.  BigCrayon.com® will never contact you to solicit your username or password because we do not use them. We recommend you never provide a user id to anyone.

Why Should We Close Our Browser When Finished Downloading the Toolbar?
After you have finished your session with BigCrayon.com® when you close the browser your session is terminated and any information that may have been stored on your computer during your session. Any information you entered during your session may be temporarily stored in the memory storage area of your computer until you close the browser.

What if I cannot find my favorite cause?
We ask that you can share this new opportunity with the cause letting us know the administrative contact to have them fill out a short W9 form along with any tax exempt certificate and fax back
to 888-453-0586. The next time you visit our site check the gift box at the top menu to find your newly entered organization and start shopping for cause by clicking on their name.


Why do some Products Indicate In-Store Only?
Some products are shipped to stores as limited stock items.  The merchants wanted to offer oinline customers the same exclusive buys while offering in-store pickup of those items. If you see a product indicating in-store only, simply have the other products shipped and pickup the limited quantity per store product by taking your order # with you to the store.  Calling ahead almost always allows our customers early knowledge of these specials.

Yes!  You pay the same prices for the products in our shopping club.

Why should I download the toolbar?
It's easy to get carried away surfing the net so decided to give our customers an easy way to get back to your favorite departments in a convenient drop down menu on the left side of our toolbar.  All internet browsers have a Back Button but the toolbar makes it so much easier.

When will my favorite cause get the money?
Checks are sent to charities monthly, 75 days in arrears matching quarterly payouts. It takes net 30 for the stores to process the discounts, rebates and any returns then our tracking company processes net 30 payments to BigCrayon® and finally we get to pay net 15 to our non-profits.

Minimum Check Amounts from Merchants:
BigCrayon®.com does not get paid until our merchant commission reaches at least $50.  We send checks for amounts at least $25 or better. If an account has less than $25 at the end of the pay cycle the funds will carry over each month until $25 accrues.

How much money does my cause get from my shopping?
Your cause will get the full percentage of the purchase price (minus coupons, tax, shipping, and handling) shown in the Shopping club at BigCrayon.com®.

Do I have to start my shopping from BigCrayon.com®?
The answer is yes. To get credit for your cause, and to qualify for exclusive member deals, you must start your shopping at the Shopping club at BigCrayon.com® web site.  Our toolbar makes it super easy to keep those checks rolling in for a cause!

How do I enroll my organization in the BigCrayon® Program?
The BigCrayon.com® Program is designed to work with non-profit and/or 501 (c) (3) Pre-K-12 schools and other youth-oriented organizations. In order to enroll in our program we require documentation that shows your organization is a 501 (c) (3), or that you are non-profit, and your state tax Exempt certificate with EIN Number. You can fax this information to us at (888)453-0586.

How do I get credit for my favorite cause from my purchases?
Simply be sure to start your online shopping at BigCrayon® and choose your favorite cause each time you shop. Doing so allows BigCrayon.com® to automatically track your shopping and credit your cause with the appropriate donation.

How do I know I've gotten credit for my purchases?
Your non-profit organization champion receives monthly "Shopping Activity Report" for a record of each of your purchases.   

How do I get a tax deduction from shopping?
Make a purchase from a vendor in the Shopping club at BigCrayon.com®. The vendor sends us back a portion of your purchase amount. We account for the money for you, and then send it to your cause selected at the time of the purchase.  If you are receiving products and services from your shopping your contributions are not tax deductible just link according to the IRS link here.

What if I have a problem with my order?
Contact the customer service department of the merchant directly.  Have your order number and date of purchase before picking up the phone.  Ask for a tracking number for any shipment.

If I make a purchase from a store before they are part of the BigCrayon®.com Network of stores, why can't I get credit for that purchase?
Unfortunately, only those purchases made through the BigCrayon.com® shopping club. Why? Only our members can earn money for their charities on purchases, and only after we make an agreement with the merchant to donate a percentage of your purchase.

Can I support more than one cause?
You can support as many charities as you want. You can change your cause as often as you like. You begin earning money for the new cause immediately.

Can I use a public computer?
Yes. When using a public computer, we recommend simply choosing your favorite cause each time you shop. Sure cookies always make life easier.

What are Cookies?
Cookies are a harmless, but very handy little mechanism by which you can be recognized every time you return to the site without logging in each time. Since most people browse the web via a personal computer, virtually every Web site on the Internet uses cookies to make accessing a site as quick and painless as possible.  Authorize only the sites you trust like ours.

Why is there a delay between making my purchase and when the transaction is posted?
There are two reasons. First, to provide an accurate summary of purchases, we post the data we receive from merchants monthly. This allows time for the merchant to handle most returns and cancelled orders, usually 30 days before they provide purchase data.  Some merchants provide purchase information a few days after your purchase and others take several weeks.
